Massachusetts State House Hall of Flags
Boston, MA
This project, in the historic Massachusetts State House, involved renovating existing display niches.
The concept was a simple stately backdrop for flags dating back to the Civil War.
This was accomplished by uncovering and restoring original marble floors, using non-reflective glass
to enhance viewing, and creating a passive air treatment system.
A display armature was developed with the flag conservators that accommodates a range of flag sizes
and adjustable viewing angles for the rotating collection.
